Bettie Jean Newberry
May 25, 1938 – January 18, 2018

Bettie Newberry, 79, of Bryan, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018. A Celebration of Life has been set for 4 pm, Saturday, January 27th at Wellborn Community Center. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers of Bryan College Station.

Bettie was born in Bryan, Texas to Curtis and Velma (McCulloch) Williams on May 25, 1938. She worked for Texas A&M University for sixteen years in the Computer Operations department. After her time there, she became the Vice President of Computer Analyst at Bank of America in Dallas, Texas. When Bettie was not working, she enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren in their sporting events and dance recitals.

Bettie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Curtis and Velma Williams; and her two brothers, Harold Williams and Bobby Williams.

Bettie is survived by her daughters, Lynn Robinson and husband Mark and Jennifer Whiffen; grandchildren, Kristy Kipp, Lauren Robinson, Lance Robinson, Shelby Robinson, Christian Whiffen, and Megan Whiffen; great grandchildren, Kayla Kipp, Meghan Kipp, and Skyler Whiffen; and her sister, Martha Bullock.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bettie’s name to Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility at 1600 Joseph Drive, Bryan, TX.
