Betty Joe Ellis, 86, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Sherwood Health Care Facility in Bryan, Texas. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, at the Funeral Home with Reverend John Free officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

Betty was born in Dallas, Texas. When she was three years old, Betty moved to Houston, Texas where she lived most of her life. She married Clarence Ellis on November 3, 1939 in Rosenberg, Texas and they moved to Bryan in 1982. Betty was a mother, homemaker and home artist. She played piano and was a member of First Baptist Church of Bryan.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Dianne Franklin, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Ellis of Bryan, Texas; sister, Marilyn Rice, of Houston, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
