Bryce H. Evans

Bryce H. Evans, 83, of Bryan, also known as the “Screen Man,” passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at the College Station Medical Center surrounded by his family. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Funeral Services are set for 2 p.m. Friday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Lange officiating. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.

Bryce was owner and operator of Evans Screen Shop and was a lifetime resident of the Bryan/College Station community. In addition to his love for his work, he enjoyed his family, listening to music, and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his father John Elexander Evans; mother, Minnie Mae Evans; sister and brother-in-law, Orpha Mae and Charlie Strasripka; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Rosie Mae Evans; nephews, Leonard (Pudgy) Evans, and Charles Strasripka.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Evans, of Bryan; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Pam Evans, of Caldwell, Billy and Ann Evans, of Smetana; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Randy Weatherford, of Bryan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Virginia Winslow, grandchildren, Lisa Winks, Libby Titzman, Lesli Gomez, Lindsay Krueger, Kendra, Kayla, and Kristan Weatherford; great grandchildren, Billy Joe Porter, Garrett Broesche, Melissa Winks, Brayden Titzman, Ty Titzman, Kyleigh Gomez, Kamryn Gomez, Alison Krueger, Madison Cox; great-great grandchild Zane Porter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

    I’m very sorry to hear of your loss. I’ve used Mr. Evans’ services many times for my home and for my rental properties. It was always a pleasure visiting with the two of you and I knew I was getting top-notch service. We have all suffered a loss with his passing.
