Carmaleete Kocman Northcutt

Carmaleete Northcutt, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Friday, July 8, 2011, in San Antonio, TX, at the Southeast Nursing & Rehab Center. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home, 3001 S. College, Bryan, TX. A chapel service is set for 10 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2011, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at the Shrine of Love Mausoleum at Restever Memorial Park, 5103 N. Texas Ave. in Bryan.
Carmaleete was born November 6, 1940 in Bryan, Texas, to Bernice McCullough and A.W. Jones. She worked as a lab technician at Texas A&M University Veterinary Anatomy making teaching slides for the vet students for over 20 years. She was a hard worker, positive and fun loving with a heart of gold. She loved to play bingo, lotto and especially vacation in Las Vegas.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Miller, her father, A.W. Jones, her sister, Bessie Lou Morgan and her brother, A.W. Jones, Jr.
Carmaleete is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Edward Horton; grandson, Judson T. Horton; plus many cousins, nieces, nephews, step children and step grandchildren.

Condolences

  1. I had opportunity to experience Carmaleete’s heart of gold — and her wonderful cooking — some thirty years ago when Chio was in the hospital in Bryan. No soul on this earth could have treated me any better.

    I also remember that great laugh of hers that was so much in evidence at any family gathering.
