  9. Our prayers for comfort during your time of sadness and many thoughts as you celebrate Mr. Darby’s life. I remember his awesome quips and stories and the barber shop. He gave my son, Zack (USMC) his first haircut and many after. Little did we know then, that he would be getting a weekly “high and tight” in the corps.
🙂 Mr. Meier will truly be missed.

  10. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Pam, I will always be grateful for the times Darby helped me. He was a fun neighbor and friend. Also,he loved God,Country and above all his Family!

  11. For many years (around 15) I would go to the barber shop with my husband and son on Saturday morning and wait for them to get their hair cut. Not just any barber would do, it had to be Darby! I remember his stories about his horses, the cowboys and how he always handed out bubble gum. He was a precious man. God Bless you and your family.

  12. Dear Meier Family, My brother Harvey and I had many a flat tops by Mr. Meier with our father Dee. Although it’s been over 25 years since then I remember that place like it was yesterday. Certainly a part of my childhood and a place my father must have really enjoyed the company with all the hours spent there. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. “What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us.” – Helen Keller

  13. Pam and Family,
We are so sad to learn of your loss. Darby was a joy to our family and a part of weekly discussions for decades. He and Red shared weekly wagers on the Cowboys and other games every fall. Nothing pleased Dad more than to have Darby down a few “hair tonic” bets and I know Darby felt the same when he won. Thank you Pam for all you and Darby have meant to us through the years. We pray that God will comfort and strengthen you in the days ahead.

Love to all, Charles and Pam

  14. Dear Pam and Family: Please accept our sincere condolences at the passing of Darby. Darby has been in our prayers since we first learned of his illness. We are so happy that we were able to visit with him at your recent high school reunion. You and your family remain in our thoughts and prayers. God bless! James and Barbara Drews

  15. Dear Pamela, Kevin and Kim,

We were so sorry to hear of Darby’s passing and pray now that you receive God’s blessing and grace.
There were so many good stories, laughs and arguments that we shared about our families, friends and, of course, sports from Little League baseball to professional football.

Darby has been in our prayers for quite some time now and we will continue pray for him and you all as well.

    Let go and let God,

    John and Shirley Sodolak

  16. My prayers are with you and the family during this very sad time. May your many happy memories be a comfort to you in the days to come. I so enjoyed speaking with Darby at the SFA Reunion. Take care, and God bless you friend.
