Dorothy “Dean” Brock

Dorothy “Dean” Brock, 89, of College Station, was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven on February 5, 2015 in Bryan, Texas. Dean was born on September 1, 1925 in Alexandra, Tennessee, to John and Robbie Starnes. She was the youngest of four children. Dean and her family moved to Melissa, Texas, at an early age where her father was a farmer until his death.

Dean was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Freda McIntire, and her brothers, Bill Starnes and John (Curly) Starnes.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 51 years, Arnold Brock; sons, Don Welborn and wife Carmen, Ross Foldetta and wife Michelle; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at the Lone Oak Baptist Church at 5200 FM 60 E., in Snook, Texas. A reception will follow the service at the church. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory in Bryan.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dean’s name to the Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility at 1600 Joseph Dr., Bryan, Texas 77802. Dean’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Hospice Brazos Valley for their loving and compassionate care.

    It was a real pleasure to meet Mrs. Brock even if it was for a short time. Her smile was absolutely contagious. She was a very sweet lady and she will be greatly missed. May you find peace in this difficult time. My condolences to you and your family.
