Edward E Eberhard

Edward E. Eberhard, Jr. passed away on Sunday March 9, 2014 at Hospice Brazos Valley in Bryan, TX of complications from a stroke following heart surgery. “Eddie”, as he was known to friends and family, was 87 years old. He was born in Seguin, TX, on March 23, 1926 to Linda Bauerschlag Eberhard and Edward Ernst Eberhard. He graduated from Seguin High School in 1943, served in the Navy from 1943 – 1946 and then attended the University of Texas in Austin. He retired from Shell Oil after a 37 year career working in Victoria, TX, Houston, TX, and New Orleans, LA. Eddie was a resident of Slidell, LA for 42 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carmel “Putsie” Dietz Eberhard of Bryan, TX, son David Eberhard and wife Rebecca of Iola, TX, son John Eberhard and wife Diana of Spring, TX, and 4 grandchildren: Scott Eberhard and wife Keri, Erin Eberhard, Bryan Eberhard and Rachel Eberhard. He is also survived by a sister, Carolyn Eberhard Smith and husband J.T., and nieces Joanne Pittman, Ralla Vickers, and Susan Horne.
