Elizabeth A Morgan

Elizabeth Ann Morgan, born Elizabeth Ann Adam, in Oakland CA., lived a long, full and often difficult life.

Living in the San Francisco Bay area for her first 34 years, she worked as a housekeeper in the early 1930’s and 40’s, and thereafter labored in the dry cleaning business. She met William C. Morgan and the two were married on January 7, 1945, until his death in 1986.

The couple moved to Elk Grove, California where they purchased land and proceeded to build their home on 5 acres south of Sacramento. Working full time, she cared not only for her own family, but also looked after her grandmother and niece.

At the age of 38 she returned to school & became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Elizabeth worked in this profession for 30 years. Mom left a legacy of memories and stories about her family life and times to her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Betty Morgan, two grandsons and their spouses, John and Cherie Morgan, and David and Karen Morgan. She also loved handcrafts, which included knitting, sewing, ceramics, embroidery and hand made Christmas ornaments, that are treasured by her family.

To Honor her life, Family members will be conducting a Memorial Service on Monday, Nov. 16, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the following organizations which lovingly cared for our Mother by filling her final weeks with the respect and dignity she earned in a life well lived; St Joseph’s Manor, C/O St Joseph’s Foundation 2333 Manor Dr., Bryan, TX 77802, or Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W. 26th St. Bryan, TX 77803.

  2. Dear Betty,
I am so sorry for your lost. I pray that God will give you and your family the strength to go through this difficult moment. I have read from the obituary that your mom spend half of her life caring and comforting people that were not close to her but needed to be help, that just shows her compassion and dedication to help others in need. God must have her in a special place up there.
    Sincerely,
    Veria
