  9. Bob and Bill,

I am very sad to hear of your mother’s passing. I know this is a very rough time for you and the entire Byford family. Your mother was a strong, loving woman who put family first. Since getting to know you two, and your parents and sisters through you, I know your family was very loyal, devoted, and generous. I have always been made to feel like part of your family and I really appreciate that. These qualities can only come from loving parents who instilled strong Christian family values in their children. I know your mother was proud of all of her children till the very end. The most important job in the world is raising kids to grow up to be fine adults and your mother obviously performed this job as well as anyone ever has.

    With love and sympathy,

    Steve Leach and family

  10. Dear Bill, Rebecca and family,
I have wonderful fond memories of your parents and especially your Mother. I remember her inviting all of us friends, of Bill’s to play pool on your new pool table. We were all so excited to get to play pool at your house. It might have been in the garage? or new built on room? I think Ronnie Grienert was driving us over there… He must have just received his Driver’s License and we were free to go some where. I remember your Mom telling me she always made her house a safe place for all of us to come hang out and we were welcome any time. It indeed was a safe place for all of us. It was the first time I had played pool. Bill must have been about 16? Needless to say I was not very good at it, but it was great fun! I remember Bill and Ronnie having to tell me the rules of pool and where I was supposed to be putting the ball. To this day I never got the hang of it! I remember your Mom bringing us all Dr. Pepper’s to drink and snacks on a platter. Your Dad was very sweet sitting in your Den watching TV. He was very friendly and kind to us all. I remember them all being so proud of Rebecca at her dance recitals. Rebecca was awesome at ballet and beautiful inside and out. I remember standing at her standing ovations she would get. I remember being in the TAMU Cotton Pageant with Rebecca. She was a finalist. Thanks to your Mom she was a great example of how to be a awesome Mom. I went on to make my home the place for all the neighborhood kids when I had my son. She was a great example to me and taught me how to be a awesome Mom. Would love to hear from you. God Bless You!
