George K. Weir

George K. Weir, 93, of College Station, passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, with Rev. David Medina of Millican Baptist Church officiating.

Born in Winnipeg, Canada, on August 13, 1915, George has been a resident of this area since 1959, and he worked as an oil field engineer. He also proudly served our country during WWII as a Merchant Marine.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Moud Thompson, and his son, Robert G. Weir.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
