Condolences

  1. The Wiman Family is in our thoughts and prayers. Janis was a very special lady to me. I am thankful to have worked with her for so many years with the Children’s Choirs and adult choir at FBC Bryan. She had a wonderful wealth of musical knowledge and ability. It was such a privilege and blessing to work along beside her and even sing with her. She will be greatly missed.

  2. Bill,
We just heard about Janis. We love you and are praying for you.
    Steve and Susan Holcombe

  3. It was truly and honor and privilege to have known Janis and to have counted her as a friend. Whether prepping for a Children’s Choir production, a church-wide pageant or just a normal Sunday service, Janis was the consummate professional. I spent many an afternoon in the worship center while she practiced the organ. What I will remember most though is her love for the children and the manner in which she directed and taught them. Janis was going to make sure they sang or said their lines just right, but was never condescending or harsh with even the most rambunctious child when in rehearsals. She always approached challenges with the love of Christ, which always shown through her.

Janis was a truly remarkable lady, in every sense. There is no doubt that the saints in heaven are rejoicing that their sister has joined them. We too can look forward to that day when we are reunited and can all sing praises to Christ together again.

  4. Bill,
We just heard about Janis. We love you and are praying for you and all your family.

  5. Gayle I want to send you and your family my deepest condolences. Will keep you all in my prayers.

  6. I was heart sick to hear that Janis had died, but I know that she would want folks to rejoice in her going home. We will miss her, but we will see her again. We will join her in the heavenly choir singing praises to God throughout eternity. What a day that will be!

Bill, I pray that you will be comforted with the sure knowledge that your wife, your friend, your soul mate is with the Lord.

  7. Bill and family our hearts ache for you with the loss of Janis. We do know that there is rejoicing in heaven and all of her pain is gone. Know that you will be in our prayers.

  8. Dear Bill and family,
Words cannot express the deepest desire to comfort in such a time of letting go. One can only hope that your journey through this valley of the shadow of death is filled with all good memories and they continue to be foremost in your heart and mind. I know there is comfort in knowing that there is another world to which we, who know the Lord, will go and spend eternity. It is promised to be without the pain and suffering that we experience here. May the Lord continue to bless your family as you continue your journey. Ann Forsthoff

  9. Wiman Family,

Janis will be remembered fondly as a Christian lady, a music ministry leader and the very example of a faithful church member. 10. To Bill and family,
Your loss is our loss and Heaven’s gain. To walk into God’s Kingdom on Easter Sunday gives me a great spiritual uplift, comfort, and hope for what God has in-store for us all who believe. Janis left such beautiful memories for us to cherish and share of her life on earth with us. I’m pondering that she is playing the golden organ and Karen is singing in the Celestial choir. What a awesome praise worship it must be there by the family of God. God be with you and your family at this time as we all celebrate Janis’ homecoming. Love and hugs, Mel & family

  11. Bill. My family was saddened to hear of Janis’ passing. She was a remarkable servant of the Lord and touched countless numbers of lives, including the members of my family. She definitely earned the “well done good and faithful servant” designation. I remember her kind, loving and expert supervision of my Sunday class teaching preparation. She was gifted in so many ways and used her talents and Godliness to every ones benefit and to the service of the Lord. God bless you and your family during this time of sadness and joy. In Christian love and support, Dick, Cathy, Stephanie (and family), and Elizabeth.

  12. To Bill and Family,
Your loss of beautiful Janis is our loss and Heaven’s gain. For her to walk into Heaven on Easter Sunday was a wonderful testimony of the life she lived. It was so inspirational to me to know of this when I first heard of it from Melissa’s Bible Fellowship’s e-mail Sunday noon. The feeling of hope, comfort, and joy just strengthened my faith in knowing that God takes care of His children. At the same time, I can picture this in my heart that Janis is playing the golden organ and Karen singing in the Celestial choir praising God in the highest. Though missed, Janis will always be in our memories for the lives she has touched and made them so much better on earth. A few Sunday services back, I had a chance to hold her hand to thank her and wish her well and not knowing that was the last time that I would see her. My heart aches for you and your family but rejoice that she is free from suffering and pain and freely walks the streets of gold. May the Lord guide, protect and comfort you and your family as you look to the future without Janis. Love & Hugs, Melvin Lai & Family

  23. Bill and girls,
I am so sorry to hear of Janis’ passing. I know she experienced an Easter Sunday like no other. Can you only imagine the glorious music she heard? I remember you with such fondness back at Pioneer Drive. I still remember that one of my first babysitting jobs was for you all. I was so proud to have been entrusted with your precious girls. I really enjoyed seeing the photo tribute of a life well lived and a woman who was well loved. She is safe now in her Heavenly Home where there is no night and no pain.

What a fun day to have fun and shop for plants. We had a lot in common . Lynn and I will forever treasure those short years together and cherish her unconditional love.
