Jeff Sanford

Jeffrey “Jeff” C. Sanford, 62, was called home by his Lord Tuesday, September 22, 2015. There will be a private graveside service at Greenwood Memorial Park in Ft. Worth at a later date.

Jeff was born November 7, 1952 in Odessa, Texas. He earned a full football scholarship to UNT and the Air Force Academy upon graduating from high school. He served in the US Army as a Specialist 5 in the Army Veterinary Corps at Walter Reed Army Hospital, and at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, during the Vietnam War.

Jeff went on to graduate from Texas A&M University in 1977 in biomedical science and then graduating with a Masters Degree in Veterinary Physiology (nuclear cardiology) from TAMU in 1981. He served as assistant director of Lab Animal Care Research and Resource Facility at TAMU, was a USDA consultant, and currently CFO of REC Industries, Inc. in College Station.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Sallie Sanford, and his brother Bob Sanford.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Marsha Sanford; brothers, Casey Sanford and wife Janet, Kyle Sanford; nephew, Sean Sanford and wife Jill; and a host of loving family and friends.

    So sorry for your loss and my prayers are with you. Jeff has always been a friend to us at USDA and he will be missed. Even with the physical problems that he was experiencing, he would always say a prayer for my daughter and her back problems. Thank you for sharing him with us. You are in our prayers.

    I am so very sorry to learn of your loss of your husband. My husband of 44 years died on September 23, 2015. Just one day after your loss.
