Jose B. Coronado

Jose B. Coronado, 77, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial is set for 10 a.m., Saturday, January 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan, with Rev. Monsignor John McCaffrey officiating.

Jose was born May 21, 1932 in Maysfield, Texas, to Domingo and Presida Coronado. He was retired from the Texas A&M University Physical Plant after 33 years of work. To all of his nephews and nieces, Jose was known as Tio Joe.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Cruz, of Bryan; daughter, Sylvia Coronado, of Bryan; brother and sister-in-law, Angel B. Sr.and Sheila Coronado, of College Station; sisters and brothers-in-law, Josie and Steve Hernandez, of Bryan, Olivia and Felix Alaman, of Cameron, Texas; longtime friend, Roy Guerra, of Bryan; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Angel B. Coronado Jr., Brandon James Coronado, Edward Hernandez, Randall B. Alaman, Joseph Cruz, and Ismail Cruz.

The family requests any memorial donations sent to the National Kidney Foundation at 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
