Joseph Edwin Miller

Joseph Edwin Miller
April 11, 1983 – February 6, 2016

The first born of four children, Joseph Edwin Miller, to Stephen Walter Miller and Colleen Elaine Quinlan Miller, has passed away at the age 32 years. A private family memorial service in honor of Joseph’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Born in Barstow, California, Joseph was a fun enthusiastic adventurous older brother. He enjoyed being the bigger brother to his siblings Ben, Abby, and Rebekah. He graduated high school and soon joined in the family tradition of firefighting. Both he and his brother Ben followed the footsteps of their grandfather and father in the fire service. Joseph joined the Brazos County Volunteers Fire Department in 2002 and then later moved to Point Blank to serve as a volunteer as well. He was employed with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Correctional Officer. Joseph’s ultimate joys in life are his three children, in which his legacy will continue.

His mother, Colleen Elaine Miller who passed away in 2002, precedes him in death.

Joseph’s survivors are his children Joseph Miller, Robert Miller, Beryl Miller; his fiancé Shayna Holt; his father Stephen Miller; his brother firefighter Ben Miller and wife Natalie; his sisters Abby and husband Nathan Belangeri, and Rebekah Miller; his uncle Robert and aunt Catherine Van Burnt; his niece’s and nephew; and a host of other relatives.

Condolences

  1. I am terribly sorry for the family’s loss and my children’s loss (joseph miller jr, and robert miller) and Rose who thought of him as dad. He was with the children for a bit under ten years and we were married for awhile then friends afterwards. His death is a blow to many and will be missed.

  2. God Bless my friend. We worked together at TDCJ & I was proud to say we were friends on shift. May you RIP
    Officer E Allen
