Lenore Watts

Mrs. Lenore Watts, 96 of College Station passed into Glory January 1, 2010 at her residence,

Bluebonnet House. She was born in Springfield, IL on July 17, 1913 to Mathias and Violet

Peters and was the middle child. After receiving a degree in Library Science from Oklahoma

University, she moved to Donna, TX and married Sam Watts in 1938. She worked as the high

school librarian, library supervisor and teacher in the Donna School District for 38 years. Mrs.

Watts was a dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church. She moved to the Bryan/

College Station area in 2001 to be near her family and was a member of the First Christian

Church in Bryan.

Mrs. Watts is survived by her only child, Sandra and son-in-law, Dayton Wodrich of

Independence, TX; Four Grandchildren: Mike and Cissy Beth Wodrich of Bryan, TX,

Christy and Tim Morey of Camarillo, CA, Jody and Xochitl Wodrich of Burbank, CA and

Sue and David Vasek of Cypress, TX; Six Great-Grandchildren: Evelyn Wodrich, Merissa

and Camryn Morey, Cash Dayton Wodrich and Lisa and Josh Vasek. She is also survived by

numerous nieces and nephews, a cousin, Rita Anderson and a sister-in-law, Irene Peters. She

is preceded in death by her two brothers and parents. Memorial services will be held at 11:00

a.m., Friday, January 8, 2010 at the First Christian Church in Bryan. Because Mrs. Watts was a

lifelong advocate for animals, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite animal

shelter or The First Christian Church, 900 S. Ennis, Bryan, TX 77803.

  1. I am so very sorry to learn of Mrs. Watts’ passing, she was such an awesome lady in all ways. She always was so very willing to help me in school. She loved my daddy, Max Miller, who was the high school principal for years. He thought the world of her too. He passed away in 1994 in North Carolina.
    Please accept my family’s deepest sympathy.
