Lois Jones

A long-time resident of Bryan, Lois Leslie Jones passed from this world on August 6 at the age of 85. She was born in El Paso and attended N.R. Crozier High School in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her parents Hilman Leslie and Johnny Lois Roberts, her son Guy Robert Jones, and her daughter Pamela Lynn Riley. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, retired Lt. Col. Samuel G. Jones (USAR), her daughter Leslie Wagner and son-in-law Fred of Arlington, her daughter Delma Lori Fernandez of Houston, and her son’s widow, Dagmar Jones. She will be missed by her grandsons David Wagner and wife Melissa, Tim Wagner and wife Tina, Ben Wagner and wife Becky, Donnovann Fernandez, and Brandon Scott Riley; granddaughters Rachel Wagner, Samantha Jones, Larissa Lachniet and husband Tyson, and Madison Fernandez; and 13 great grandchildren.

Creative, articulate, and musically inclined, she played the organ and piano for her family. She enjoyed world travel as an Army wife, living in both France and Germany. She and her husband continued their travels in later years. Together and while he served in Vietnam and Korea, she and her husband raised their four children and their grandson, Scott. She will be greatly missed.

A graveside service honoring Lois’ life is set for 3 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 at Restever Memorial Park Cemetery in Bryan. Prior to the service there will be an opportunity for viewing for close friends and family beginning at 1:30 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home.
