Lucinda Hill

Lucinda Emma Hill, 82, of Bryan, passed away Tuesday morning September 2, 2014 at Hospice Brazos Valley in Bryan. A Celebration of Life memorial service is set for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church in Bryan. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.

Lucinda was born July 26, 1932 in Vinita, Oklahoma to William and Ethel Wilson. She retired from the City of College Station Library, where she worked as an assistant Librarian. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Bryan. Lucinda enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and she especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard Hill; daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Kenneth Koontz; son Richard Hill; sister Ann Pettit Averitt; brother, William Johnson Wilson; and grandchildren, Madison and Marley Koontz, Gary Wayne Hill, and William Douglas Hill.

She leaves behind her daughters and sons-in-law; Lucinda Kelly and Edwin Gilfus, Bettie and Stephen Fedrizzi, Emily and Randall Bolander, Hilda and Andy Wertz, Maggie and Barry Johnson; son and daughters-in-law Sam and Carol Hill, Jane Hill; and sister Nancy Clark; 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Hospice Brazos Valley at 502 W. 26th St., Bryan, TX 77803, or First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Carter Creek Pkwy, Bryan, TX 77802.

  1. My deepest sympathy for all of Lucinda’s family. She was a wonderful woman and I am happy that I had an opportunity to work with her and count her as a friend. I treasure the three baby afghans that she made for our children.
