Mae Conner

Mae Conner, 63, of Bryan, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, June 7, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 8, at Calvary Baptist Church in Bryan, with Rev. David Murphy and Jon Alaniz (CMA) officiating. Interment will follow at Restever Memorial Park in Bryan.
Mae was born April 17, 1947, in Foster, Oklahoma, to Alvie and Lillie Mae Dennis. On January 17, 1974, Mae married her husband, Layne Conner. She worked for SourceNet Solutions in College Station. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bryan, and she was also a Patched member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA).
She was preceded in death by her mother, and her son Tommy David Conner.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Layne Conner, of Bryan; sons and daughter-in-law, Tim and Sheril Conner, of Albuquerque, NM, John Conner, and Jesse Conner, both of Bryan, Texas; daughter, Mayla Arreola, of Bryan, Texas; father, Alvie Dennis, of Pampa, Texas; brothers, Dwight Dennis and Aldo Dennis, both of Pampa, Texas; sisters, Barbara Grissom, of Houston, Texas, Wilma Parks, of Houston, Texas, Darlene Cotton, of Amarillo, Texas, Deanie Dennis, of Pampa, Texas, Pat McCain, of Burleson, Texas; sister-in-law, LaDee George, of Ft. Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Serving as Pall Bearers are Kevin Keefer, C.L. Keefer, Dexter Mickens, Albert Pasciuti, Roger Youngblood, and Brent Clary.

  1. So sorry to each of you for your loss. I only met her this last week, but I could tell right away what kind of person she was. She was kind and hospitable, and I can tell that she was loved by many. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

  2. To the Conner Family, I am so very sorry for your lost. Mae was such a wonderful god loving women. She may be gone but she will never be forgotten. I remember after I had Jason and the first time Mae held him and he didn’t cry one bit with her holding him. She will always be alive in our hearts.

  6. Mae was like a mother to everyone, she always loved and cared for everyone else not just herself. When you need help or advice she was always there for us. She is a very kind women, and was always very friendly.

  8. Mae, you will be miss but never forgotten. She always had a smile on her face and never seem down, she was a wonderful friend and sister in Christ. She is now home with our Lord looking down at us and watching over everyone. Mae I will miss you.   10. Mae was a very remarkable person. I truly enjoyed her smile & kindness she showed to fellow coworkers and to all of her clients when we worked together at Panhandle Community Services. I know that she will be missed by Layne & her family. I am truly sorry for your loss. May God grant you’ll peace during this time of sorrow!
