Maria Ruvi Barreiro

Maria Barreiro, 65, of Bryan, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at her home. Her family will receive guests during a visitation from 11am until a rosary service at 12:30pm, on Thursdy, August 6, 2015 at St. Michael’s Academy Chapel, 2402 South College Ave at the corner of South College and Williamson Street. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Maria was born to Adan and Elida Flores in Los Ebanos, Texas. She never allowed her disabilities to prevent her from becoming a mom to her three amazing children Ben, Steve and Belinda. Her life has been one of great faith overcoming many obstacles where others may have accepted and resolved to just living. But, she was determined to be a gift of life for others being a mom and blessed to have been a grandmother as well. Her children, grandchildren and other family members will greatly miss her smile and warm loving affection. She was Catholic in faith.

Her father Adan; her brother-in-law Jesus Cardenas, her sister Rosa Maria Stader precede her in death.

She is survived by her children Benjamin Barreiro, Steve Barreiro, and Belinda Barreiro; her mother Elida Flores, of Sullivan City, Texas; her grandchildren; her sisters Norma Silguero and husband Joe, Vilma Salinas and husband Renee, Dorotea Cardenas, and Melba Barreiro; her brothers Adan Flores and wife Lillie, Arnoldo Flores and wife Irma; and other relatives and close friends.
