Mary Emily Palermo
April 13, 1920 – June 12, 2015

Mary Palermo, was born April 13, 1920 in Rockdale, Texas to Oscar Callaway and Ella Graham Callaway. She was the sixth child in a family of six boys and four girls. She was called home in Bryan, Texas on June 12, 2015 at the age of 95 years. Cremation Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Mary owned and operated several local restaurants, most notably The Dixie Café in downtown Bryan for a number of years. Later, after retiring from the restaurant business Mary worked taking care of elderly patients in a number of nursing homes.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, two sisters, two husbands, Morris Dyer and Sam Palermo, and a grand daughter.

Survivors include her younger sister Dorothy Bolton; three daughters Barbara Smith, Peggy Page and husband Jay Page, and Janice Whitley; her step-daughter Phyllis Pollard and husband Dennis; her grandchildren Morris Page, Neal Page, Jennifer Johnson, Lisa Whitley, Mark Whitley, Becky Smith Dula, Amanda Boring, along with their spouses; additionally there are numerous great-grandchildren.
