Marye Alice Oliver, 75, of College Station, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at her residence. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 27, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Marye was born November, 17, 1937 in Madisonville, Texas, to Albert and Ellen Lipscomb. She attended Charles Milby High School. After graduation she pursued and received her BA in Teaching and finally a Masters in Library Science.
She worked as a Librarian at the Bryan Public Library. Later she became the Director of the Brazos Community Council. Mary was a member of the Brazos Valley Church of Christ and she also served as a Social Services Coordinator for the Salvation Army.
Survivors include her brothers, Linton and Jack Lipscomb; son, Paul; and two grandchildren, Taylah and Madison Lipscomb.
