Melissa Anne Fuchs

Melissa Anne Fuchs
May 22, 1973 – July 8, 2017

Melissa Fuchs, 44, of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017, in Bryan. Her family will receive guests during visiting hours from 5 to 8 pm, on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at the funeral home. Her Life Tribute Service will begin at 2 pm, Friday, July 14, 2017, at the funeral home. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers Bryan-College Station.

Melissa was born to her parents Sandra Kay Hillman Johnson and Valan Nelard Johnson in Albert Lea, Minnesota on May 22, 1973. A bright and vibrant young lady through out her life. Melissa graduated high school in 1991 and immediately began her career in various office administrative positions. She was employed with the TAMU Engineering Department for several years. Melissa’s life was complete when she welcomed her daughter Jaime into this world. Together she and Jaime looked forward to meeting Melissa’s first grandbaby later this year. James Fuchs was her soul mate whom she wanted to grow old together with.

Melissa’s life was one of great adventure shared by family and friends. As a motorcycle enthusiast always looking for a great road trip she believed the further the better. She was a gambler at heart and loved Louisiana for the great casinos in that state. In all her adventures James and Melissa wanted everyone to be happy and enjoy the time given to share. Melissa and Jaime shared many days of “girl’s day”, where they would venture off and just do mom and daughter stuff such as pedicures, watch movies together, and have their favorite wine. Although Melissa’s life was short in our eyes; she lived a full life of love for all to enjoy. This life of a free spirit is now truly free in the afterlife in faith.

She is survived by her husband James Fuchs; her daughter Jaime Smith (Tyler Doan); her brother Matthew Johnson (Heather Allen); her sister Mollie Monson; her mother Sandra Johnson; her father Val and wife Joyce Johnson; her grandbaby to be born would have called her “MimiLissa”; her in-laws Ray and Barbara Commander; and Fuchs Family.

  12. Melissa left us too soon, but we’ll all be together eventually. She was so full of life-it’s hard to realize we won’t be seeing her in the coming days. My heart goes out to those she left behind; especially Jaime, her daughter, her heritage. May the Lord bless and keep all of us until we can join Melissa and truly laugh and smile again.

  14. Val and family, may you find some peace with the Lord. I only knew Melissa as a baby when Robin would babysit and I would be with her. She was such a happy little girl. There are no words for such a loss. My prayers are for you.

  15. Jaimie, my heart hurts for you and all of those your Mom loved. The world will not be quite as bright without that beautiful smile of hers. I have no doubt she is now watching over you and your daughter knowing what an amazing adventure you have ahead of you.
I worked with your Mom in the Chemistry dept. and remember when she spoke of you and brought you to work on occasion. You were her pride and joy! Years later when I ran into her and this gorgeous young woman at Los Cucos, I could not believe that adorable little girl I had met all those years ago was already grown up! She just beamed with pride to be saying this is Jaimie!
You will honor her life being an amazing Mom like she has been for you.
I pray you get some comfort in knowing how much others of us were touched by her kindness, laughter and beauty inside and out.
    Sincerely,
    Donna Shumaker
