Norman Barnes Smith

Norman Barnes Smith III, 66, of Bryan, passed away Monday, November 22, 2010 at Magnified Health and Rehab. A celebration of his life will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Peace Lutheran Church in College Station, with Pastor Steve Rieke officiating.

Norman was born January 30, 1944, in Lakewood, New Jersey, to Norma Jr. and Alicia Smith. He’s been a residence of this area for three years, after moving from Carrolton, Texas. He was a Mason and a member of Peace Lutheran Church in College Station.

Norman held a degree in Finance from Columbia University, and when he went to work after college, he was the youngest bank officer in New York City. He loved to play golf and he especially loved animals, particularly his two dogs, Tippi and Sweetie.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Smith, of Bryan, Texas; daughter, Rhonda Holley, of Bryan Texas; grandchildren, Nicolas and Aislin Southerlend; great grandchild, Brayden Daniel Lee Southerlend.

Memorial Donations may be made to the American Society of Prevention and Cruelty to Animals, or the Brazos County Animal Shelter.
