Olivia Cruz Ubernosky

Olivia Cruz Ubernosky of Bryan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Friday June 3, 2016, 57years of age, in Bryan. Family and friends are welcome to join the family in visiting hours on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 11:00am – 1pm with a 12:30pm Prayer service at St. Michael’s Academy Chapel in Bryan. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Olivia was born September 21, 1958 to Presiliano and Beatrice Franco Cruz in Bryan. Olivia graduated from Bryan High School in 1977 and worked for the City of Bryan at Larry J Ringer library since 2002. Olivia loved her children and grandchildren; she had a joy for life and a contagious smile. Anyone who was lucky enough to meet her could call her a friend for life, she was the most loyal, caring and loving free sprit

She is proceeding in death by her father Presiliano Cruz SR., brother Presiliano Cruz JR., brother-in-law James Stokes, cousin Esmeralda Villarreal Prentice & niece Emerald Petroski

She is survived by her son Robert Ubernosky of Bryan; daughter and son in law Beatrice and Jason Clay and their children Grayson and Paige Clay of Kurten; her mother Beatrice Franco Minde of Bryan; her sister and brother-in-law Henrietta and Charles Petroski; her nephews Jason and Jacob Petroski; and Emerald’s daughter Julia Petroski all of Bryan; her sister Mary Stokes and lifetime partner Russ Jones; her niece Jaime Stokes all of Bryan; niece Kylie Cruz and daughter Acacia McCabe of New York; her children’s father and friend Glen Ubernosky of Bryan and numerous other cousins, nieces & nephews

You are free now go fly with the dragonflies, you have earned your wings, Heaven has for sure gain another Angel. So glad when i came home about a month ago I saw you at Pepe’s, of all places right??   3. I will miss Olivia very much. I have so many fond memories or her when we all lived on Yellowstone Dr., in Bryan.   4. My condolences to Olivia’s family. I worked with Olivia for a couple of years and she was a great friend. Her favorite things on this earth were dragonflies and her grandson. She will be sorely missed.

  5. I am very sorry for the loss of my aunt and my Godmom. She meant the world to me. I did a lot of things with Aunt Livvie (family name) she was an awesome cook. I use to hang out with my aunt all the time and sometimes she would take me to Sonic in the summer time. She made these cool designed bows. When I was ten she made me Cleopatra outfit. It was shimmer fabric. I had purple on the outside and Gold on the inside.She found a fake gold snakes that wrap around your arm with jewels in the eyes. She used a bridal shell for the top of my hair measured my hair and measured the beads to see if they fit. They did and I got a gorgeous outfit. I wore it for two years. Thank you Aunt Livvie for making that and I am going to miss you for one day when I am not an old maid ad get married family has to fix my dress

  6. Mary and Henrietta and family – I am sorry to hear the loss of your beautiful sister, Olivia. I didn’t know Olivia but I see that she is a beautiful woman like her sisters and from what I read from others was a wonderful person. I know that you all will miss her so very much. My condolences to all, your Mother and Olivia’s children. I pray that God gives you all the strength to get through this very difficult time. I think that heaven has gained another beautiful angel. God Bless all and may He bestow his Holy Spirit upon all.

  10. Olivia’s infectious smile and her love of family are what I will always remember. She always made the library a friendly place with her desire to always help everyone. I have been seeing so many dragonflies lately, and it always makes me think of her. She was very proud of Robert and Bea.

  11. I have missed you at the library and enjoyed our talks. You were a brave woman as you shared your sickness with me and I prayed I would walk into the library and there you would be. You would always share your grandson’s picture with me as he was your highlight. To those left behind you have a great lady to remember. GOD BLESS
