Patricia Isbell

Patricia Jolene Isbell, born October 2, 1939 in Caddo County, OK, passed away Wednesday December 31, 2014. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday January 7, 2015 at St. Michael’s Academy Chapel, 2500 S College Ave, Bryan, TX 77801. Cremation and memorial services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Pat was a wonderful mother, aunt, grandparent and friend. She had a wonderful group of friends here in Bryan, Texas, “the girls.” Even after she moved to Austin due to health reasons they kept in touch regularly by phone and lunch gatherings when she’d come to Bryan for doctors appointments. That meant the world to her.

She loved to sing and did so most of her life. She also loved to dance and could two-step with the best of them, even entering some local dance contests back in the day.

Pat retired from Ameri-Gas Propane Company where she worked for almost 25 years serving the Brazos Valley. That is when she met the last love of her life, her little poodle Shasta, who was by her side at the end offering her comfort and companionship.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margie McWhorter; father, Earl Godfrey; daughter, Sheryl Golden; and her only Sister, Peggy Young.

She is survived by her Son, Ricky Jones and Son-in-Law, Shawn O’Connor of Austin; granddaughter, Shannon Holland and her husband Jeffrey of North Zulch; great granddaughter, Emily Holland; niece, Pam Harper and her son Jeremy Harper, niece Tricia Sachs and husband Donovan and their children, Daniel, Bryan and Allison Reid.

Condolences

  1. Mom we miss you terribly. Shawn and I are lost without you. We hope that you have found peace and you are no longer in pain. We love you so very much.

  2. Dear Ricky, Shawn, and Family,

It’s so sad to have to have to say, “Goodbye,” to Pat. Yet all of the supportive memories of her as an exemplary mom and human being live on with us today and each day that any of us live and breathe. Those are the gifts which transcend the comings and goings of simply good people. Our best to you as you grieve her loss.

    Sincerely,

    Lee & Frank

  3. She was a great listener in times of need. She treated all her boys as sons. I’ll miss her dearly. Now she can dance in heaven with the guys who proceeded. Take a spin for me Pat.

  4. Ricky, Sending you my love as you go through this time of grief. I feel so very blessed to have been able to call your mother my dear friend. Marsha

  5. Our deepest sympathies to your family. Pat was always a friend & a very classy lady. She will be missed by many.

  6. I am very sorry for your loss…sending my deepest heartfelt sympathies. Miss Pat was such a wonderful lady with a beautiful smile and voice. I loved to listen to her sing at karaoke. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. I am glad to have had the pleasure of knowing such an awesome lady!! Rest In Peace Miss Pat!

  7. One night at Harp’s, I told Pat I had “adopted” Sheryl, Ricky, and Shawn, and that made us “sisters.” Pat left a voice message for me the last time she tried to call. She said she was sorry it had been such a long time since she had called so she wondered if she was still my sister. When I called her back, I told her she would always be my sister – forever and ever — and she will be.

Pat was an amazing woman, and I was so blessed to have her in my life. She had an amazing smile that she wore all the time. She was a walking encyclopedia of country music. I loved hearing her sing. I loved watching her dance with Ricky. I loved watching her face light up when she talked about her family.

I know Pat is singing with the angels now, and I know we will see her again someday. RIP my sister. I love you so much.

  8. Mom, it’s been 2 weeks now since you left us. I know you are at peace and are no longer in pain. We miss you so very much, but I know you’ll always be with me because you are in my heart. You were a wonderful Mom and I know how much you loved me. You will always be in my heart and never far from my thoughts. I love you Ladybug!
