Robert Schmidt, 59, a lifetime resident of Bryan, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 20, 2015. Private family graveside burial will be at the Kurten Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Faith United Church of Christ, with Pastor Karl Tewold officiating.
Robert was born June 26, 1955, in Bryan, Texas, to Robert and Bertha Schmidt. He worked many years in the ice cream industry, specifically the Southwest Ice cream Specialities of McKinney. Most recently he worked as a Production Associate at Neutral Posture in Bryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert leaves behind his brothers and sisters-in-law, Preston “Mike” and Cathy Scott, William “Bill” and Aggie Scott; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy and Howard Hatfield, Paula and Larry Overall, Charlotte and Leo Sturgeon; numerous nieces and nephews, in particular his niece Jena Prescott with whom he shared a close relationship and her husband James.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in his memory to Faith United Church of Christ, Compassionate Care Hospice or the charity of your choice.

I cherish the memories of a childhood that included many a football games in Robert’s back yard. He could fly! Praying that God will comfort you with with His personal presence, comfort and care and rejoice in God’s provision for Robert and all who believe!

The Lord does work in mysterious ways. Ours is not to know exactly why he takes people early in their lives.
