Roland Harrison, 78, of Bryan, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Roland’s family will receive guests during visiting hours from 4 to 7 pm on Sunday, April 23, 2017, with a Rosary recited at 5 pm at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Monday, April 24, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monsignor John A. McCaffrey officiating. His interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers Bryan-College Station.

Born on February 5, 1939, in Tabor, Texas, Roland was a lifelong resident of Brazos County and Bryan. He was born to Isaac Brown and Nora Annie Holiday Harrison. After high school, Roland joined the Army National Guard and served a number of years. His family and friends knew him for being the most enthusiastic Texas Aggie sports fan. Roland was an Aggie Baseball season ticket holder for over twenty years. He was also a proud Usher for Texas A&M Football games. His family will best remember him for his support of their activities especially as a Little League East Coach and Bryan High School Sports Booster Club Volunteer. Roland enjoyed various cruises and a great trip to the casinos with his family and friends. He dedicated himself to serving as an Usher at St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a member of the church.

Preceding him death are his parents Isaac and Nora; his brother I.B. Harrison and wife Doris; his twin sister Mattie Smith, his sisters Lorraine Chaffin and husband Tiny, Helen Lero and husband Joe; his sisters-in-law Margaret Gott and husband Howard, Susie Harvell; brothers- in-law John E. Bomnskie, Gene Zulkowski, Pete Scanlin, and Phil Wayne.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Annette Harrison; his daughter Leanne Nelson and her children Jared and wife Christy, Julie, and Justin; his son Brian Harrison and wife Pamela and their children Abby and Braxton; his sisters Lila Mae Wayne, Mary Ellen Wine; sisters-in-law Betty Zulkowski, Dorothy Wolff and husband Oscar, Frances Scanlin; his brothers-in-law Ray Bomnskie and wife Debbie, and Jody Smith; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association, Bryan Little League East, or Encompass Hospice, In Memory of Roland Harrison.
