Ronald Scharber

Ronald G. Scharber, 80, of College Station passed away Thursday November 3, 2016, with his family at his bedside.  There will be a private interment for family at the Houston National Cemetery. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers of Bryan College Station, Texas.

Ronald was born August 17, 1936, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Vernon and Bernice Scharber.

He retired after 23 years of service in the U.S. Army with tours in Korea, Vietnam, and Germany. He was a graduate of the Seventh Army NCO Academy of Munich Germany, taught at Allen Military Academy of Bryan. He was an area Commander for the U.S. Army Recruiting including Bryan. Ronald was a graduate of Elk River High School of Elk River, Minnesota; attended the University of Maryland and Texas A&M University.  He served as Chairman of OSLC Council, and member of the Masonic Blue Lodge, York Rite, Scottish Rite and The Shriners.

He was preceded in death by both his parents.

Ronald was a devoted to his family.  Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Scharber and daughter, Deborah Hardt of College Station; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois Flemming, Carolyn and Leroy Olson, and Ruthanne and Paul Mattson; and brother, David Scharber.
