Ronald “STRIDE” Lance Riley


Stride Riley, 62, of Bryan, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, in Navasota as a resident at Golden Creek. A visitation is scheduled for 6 to 8pm, Friday, December 16, 2016 at Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers Bryan-College Station. His funeral service is scheduled for 11am, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the funeral home. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers Bryan-College Station.

Stride was born to Charlie Mack and Ruby Clark Riley on December 4, 1954 in Bryan, Texas.  He was a man of artistic talent sharing his drawings with family and friends. A pen and ink sketch of the Grimes County courthouse, by Ronald, was adopted as the official logo of the Grimes County Historical Commission and was displayed at the courthouse in Anderson for many years. He studied and obtained a degree in Liberal Arts.  He was a man who enjoyed the outdoors as a brick mason and had a deep love for fishing. Stride was a man of few words but was respected by his family and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents Charlie Mack and Ruby Riley; his brothers Carl Riley and Bobby Joe Riley.

He is survived by his children Jason and wife Sarah Riley, Acey and husband Brad Chappell; his twin brother Donald Riley; his brothers Andy Riley, Reverend Jeff and wife Karen Riley, James Ray and wife Laverne Riley; his sisters Shirley and husband Clarence Moehlman, and Sandra Riley; his eight grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces, and other relatives and close friends.

Serving as Honorary Pall Bearers are Jeremy Riley, Joe Riley, Johnny Ray Riley, Jeren Riley, Wesley Riley, and Dennis Moelhman.

The family asked that your generous memorial gift be given to Encompass Hospice 3600 Hwy 36 South, Suite 100 College Station, TX 77845 in Memory of Ronald “Stride” Riley.

    you may not know me but i know of u wish i could could meet with u and talk more with u my name is lance and stride was my dad if u ever want to talk or meet me and my family please dont hesitate to call me 816 255 5358. i had been looking for him for about 4 years so i can catch up and show him his grand kids but things didnt pan out but i hope to hear from u
