Ruth Halliburton, 88, of Houston, died on Friday, August 25, 2017 in Humble. Her family will receive guests during visiting hours 9 to 11am, Saturday, September 9, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center. Her life will be honored at the graveside service beginning at 11:30 AM, Saturday, September 9 at Bethel Cemetery. Funeral services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers Bryan-College Station.

Ruth Halliburton was born to James Shrimpton and Vida Mae Ross Shrimpton in Bryan (Harvey Community), Texas. Ruth will be remembered for the love she shared to all she met. She married James Earl Halliburton. She and James were inseparable until his death. She was known to many of her family members as “Aunt Ruthie”. Ruth was truly a country girl at heart. Her father was a sharecropper, so she new the value of hard work for an earnest pay.   Ruth after her long hours of labor would find the energy to enjoy a good dance in the area. She was a great country dancer. Her leisure time was spent creating the most amazing flower gardens for all to see. She was most proud of her Confederate Rose and the breath taking Cactus Gardens.

She is pre deceased by her husband James Halliburton; her parents James Shrimpton and Vida Shrimpton.

Her survivors include her beloved sister Lydia K. Sanford and husband John S. Sanford; her long time friend Ceraldo Zambrano and his children Junior, Elsie, Gracie, and Danny; and other relatives.

  1. James Earl Halliburton, I am her one and only child she was married to Herman Halliburton, nick name ( Mullins). Get your facts straight. No one told me she had past away, or tried to contact me. That’s wrong!!!!!, and considerit.
