A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Parkway Baptist Church in College Station at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made in her memory to Hospice Brazos Valley.

Sheryl was born in Taylor, Texas on October 8, 1957 to Billie Joe Garner and Billie D. (Earle) Garner. Sheryl graduated from Bryan High School in 1976. She was a legal secretary and worked for many years for the law firm of Davis and Haggarty in Houston.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her father Billie Joe Garner and her grandparents.

Sheryl is survived by her daughter Brittany Prather, mother Billie D. Earle, brother Tommy Whitlock and wife Cheri and sister Linda Jenicek and husband Lenny.

She will be remembered for her sparkling personality, her love of turtles, and arts and crafts. Sheryl was a girl scout and loved camping. She and friends would often sing girl scouts songs around the campfire. She will be missed.

The family would like to thank Pastor Chris Snidow and his wife Cindy for their visits to Sheryl and their many prayers, and Hospice Brazos Valley for their loving care.

  4. I was so saddened to hear the news that Sheryl had passed away. May heart is broken for you. I have not seen Sheryl probably in more than 30 years. We lost touch sometime after she was in my wedding. I have often thought of her and the years we were friends ( since elementary school at Travis). I have many fond memories of her and the times we spent together. I want you to know that each of you are in my prayers. May God bless you and comfort you in the way that only He can. Blessings, Carol Cangelose Hollis
