Timothy Franklin Newman
December 17, 1946 – June 5, 2016

Timothy Franklin Newman, beloved husband and father, went to be with our Lord on June 5, 2016 at the age of 69 years. A visitation will be from 5:30pm to 7pm, Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at St. Michael’s Academy Chapel, 2402 South College Ave in Bryan. A viewing and graveside service will be at 1pm, Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Edgewood, Texas. Funeral service is in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

He was born to Benjamin and Louise Newman on December 17, 1946 who proceed him in death. Tim grew up in Edgewood, Texas a place he truly loved. He was the star running back for the Edgewood Bulldogs Class of 1965. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and served during the Vietnam Conflict, which he was very proud of. In 1971, he was employed with the Missouri/Union Pacific Railroad and retired after 37 years. Tim loved to fish, hunt, watch his Nascar, and cheer on the Cowboys, as well as spend quality time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Shirley Goetz Newman; his son Donnie Foster and wife Carla; his daughters Kimberly Foster-Rodgers and husband Lesley, Cristy Newman Stolle and husband David, Stephanie Newman Silva and husband Daniel; and seven grandchildren.

    I am so sorry to learn of Tim’s passing – I just found this, in December 2016, while looking for you all to become facebook friends. You were such wonderful neighbors, when we lived in Palestine, and I have so many good memories of spending time with you and the “wah-wah” when I’d come over to visit. You have my absolute deepest sympathy & prayers!
