Truby Duane Singleton

Truby Duane Singleton “Duane”, 80, passed away on Wednesday, Sep. 19, 2012.
Born December 9, 1931 in Sydney, Texas to Lewis and Eula (Redwine) Singleton. He graduated from Denver City, Texas High School and attended Texas Western College (now UT) at El Paso, Texas. May 29, 1954, he married Betty Anne Norvell , together they enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Duane served 20 years in the US Air Force retiring in 1974. He served on the Minuteman Missile and F-111 fighter bomber programs. After Air Force, he served a second career retiring from Methodist Hospital Radiology department, Houston Texas in 1996.
Duane was a member of First Baptist Church, Bryan, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Anne Singleton, of Bryan, Texas; daughter, Sherry Cody and husband, Mark Missionaries to Quito, Ecuador; son, Chris Singleton Regional Sales Manager, Nuclear Division Tyco, and wife Donna of Huntington, NC; son, Steve Singleton and wife Tracy of Bryan, Texas Executive Directors of Still Creek Boys and Girls Ranch as well as 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sue McCoy of New Braunfels, Texas. Duane was preceded in death by twin daughters, Debra and Glenda Singleton, his parents, Lewis & Eula Singleton, brothers Lewis and Vernon Singleton.
Friends and family will be received at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home on 3001 S. College Ave., Bryan, TX 77801 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Sun., Sep. 23, 2012. Funeral services will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX at 2:30 pm, Monday, Sep. 24, 2012.
