Velia Mauldin

Velia “Billie” Galindo Mauldin went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 30, 2011, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 3, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Monsignor John A. McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park in Bryan. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Billie was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, as well as a faithful member of the Guadalupanas, Women’s Aglow Group, and other prayer ministries. Her life shows what it means to be a true witness to Christ and will continue to influence lives. Her faith and strong spiritual commitment to God assures all who knew her that she has taken her inevitable place with the Communion of Saints. Billie will always be remembered for her warm heart, generosity and her undying love for her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Manuel V. Galindo, and her mother, Trinidad Sarabia Galindo.

Billie is survived by her husband, Lawrence O. Mauldin; son, Edward “Bear” Ramirez, Jr. and wife Michele Ramirez, granddaughter Amanda Ramirez; son, Ronald “Nano” Ramirez, daughter-in-law, Josie Ramirez, granddaughters Chelsey and Brianna Ramirez; and son, Richard Brandon Mauldin.

Billie is also survived by brothers Richard S. Galindo, and Johnny S. Galindo and wife Janie Galindo; sisters, Rosalinda Galindo-Cantu and husband Leonel Cantu and Gloria Galindo Saenz and husband Rick Saenz, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, all of whom loved her very much and will miss her dearly.

Condolences

  1. We remember Billie in our hearts. She was a beautiful human, a faithful soul, a wonderful mother and wife, and a dear friend of many years. Take strength and comfort from memories of Billie.
