Vivian Lawler

June 25, 1931 – August 1, 2008

Loving mother and grandmother, Carmelyta Lawler died peacefully at her home on Friday, August 1, 2008. A memorial service in celebration of her life is set for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 6th, at the Villas of Rock Prairie in College Station.

A future memorial will be held in Cooke City, Montana. She will join her loving husband, Jack Lawler in heaven and begin a whole new adventure, which they both loved.

Carmelyta was born on June 25, 1931, in Carlinville, Illinois. She graduated with honors from Southern Illinois University. After graduation she taught school for several years while her husband served in the Korean War.

Once they settled down to raise a family, she became a homemaker and dedicated mother, residing in Overland Park, Kansas until 1989. S

She and Jack traveled the country in their RV, spending their summers in Cooke City, Montana. After Jack’s death in 1996, Carmelyta moved to College Station so she could be close to her daughter.

She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Mark Westhusin of College Station; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sally Lawler of Louisville, Ky; grandchildren, Sarah Westhusin of Houston, Matthew and Joshua Westhusin of College Station, Wesley and Reid Lawler, of Louisville, Ky., and a host of friends to numerous to name.
