Wendy Kay Dean

Wendy Kay Dean, 40, of Bryan, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2011, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Funeral services celebrating her life will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, August 26, at Callaway Jones Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Bryan City Cemetery.

Wendy was born in Galveston, Texas on November 6, 1970 to Raymond Wiltshire and Bobbie Sue Goetz. She married Shannon Dean of Bryan, Texas, on October 10, 1992, and has been a resident of Bryan ever since, and they have been married for 19 years.

Wendy was a kind and generous person who never met a stranger. She was very opinionated and outspoken about her views on how things should be. Wendy attended the American Intercontinental University where she got her Associates degree in Medical Billing and Coding and was named to the Dean’s List. She was starting her Bachelor’s degree this month.

Her family was her life, her heart and soul. Wendy was an overachiever in whatever she did. Whether it be her family, her education, or her career, she went above and beyond to make it a better than it already was. She will be greatly missed. Gone but never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Wayne Dean.

Survivors include her loving husband, Shannon Dean; sons, Cory Norred, Christopher Norred, Shannon Ray Dean Jr., Skylar Wayne Dean; daughter, Shelby Joyce Dean; father, Raymond Wiltshire; mother Bobbye Sue Goetz and husband Pete; brother, Raymond Wiltshire Jr. and wife April; brothers-in-law, Will Dean and wife Sheri, Charles Dean, Charlie Dean; sister-in-law, Donna Ashton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

For those who desire, contributions toward her funeral costs may be sent in her memory to the Wendy Dean fund at any local CitiBank location.

  7. Bobbye Sue, Shannon & family, We are so sorry for your loss. You all have been on my mind since I heard the news. I’m so sad that I can’t make it to the service on Friday, but it’s just not possible. I will keep you in my heart while you’re going through this terribly sad time.

  8. I am so saddened to hear that Wendy is gone. It has been many years since we have seen each other. I just remember Wendy being one of the most caring and outgoing people I had ever meet. She did so much for me as well as my family and taught me so much. She was an amazing woman and I will never forget her. She will always be in my heart.

  9. I have know Wendy for many years, even before she married Shannon. You see Wendy and I were schoolmates and friends as well. Her unique laughter and her mannerism will be missed by all who knew her. She was very outspoken and always has been. But one of the things that stood out most in Wendy was her love for her family and her animals. Wendy also would open her home to anyone that needed a place to stay. She was a loving and caring person. I can see her now in my mind struttin’ across the yard (you know she walked a little fast with small steps and swinging them arms too) smiling from ear to ear with that giggle that she had and say “Hey girl what’s goin’ on?” Hahaha It’s going to be so hard to drive by the house and not see her sitting out in the yard with her husband, her kids, her in-laws and friends out by one of their camp fires laughing and talking. She loved to have family and friends over and just hang out. Those are going to be some of the times the family will miss the most…I’m sure of it! Wendy may have left this earth, but she left a little bit of herself behind…in her children! She lives on through her children and the love and memories of her husband other family members and her friends. Sending my love, prayers and deepest heartfelt sympathies to my cousin, Shannon and their kids. May you find peace in knowing that you have an angel watching over you.
