Anita Louise Murray
September 30, 1937 – January 19, 2016
Anita Louise Murray, born on September 30, 1937 in Rochester, Texas died on January 19, 2016 in Bryan, Texas. After graduating high school she attended Hardin Simmons where she met Pete Murray and he swiftly and permanently fell for his yellow rose of Texas. Pete and Anita were devoted to each other, lovingly negotiating fifty-five years of marriage until his death. Anita devoted herself to her husband and two daughters, as well as their extended family and friends. She was particularly proud of her grandson Benjamin Gerzik.
While we mourn the loss, we are comforted that she and Pete are reunited. Anyone wishing to honor Anita’s memory is encouraged to make a donation to an animal shelter or a food bank of your choice. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Melanie, Mo and Ben – Your mother was a lucky woman to have such a loving and attentive family. Fifty-five years – I’m sure they’re figuring out now what to do with the next 55. Such an amazing love.
