Arel Armstrong Duncan

Arel Armstrong Duncan, 95, of Bryan, passed away peacefully at Hospice Brazos Inpatient Care Facility on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Graveside services will be held at Rosedale Cemetery, Gladewater, Texas, for the family only. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Arel was born November 27, 1918, in San Augustine, Texas to Mattie Lou and Arch Swann. Before retiring, she worked at Eckerd Drugs (now CVS) 20 plus years.

Survivors include her daughter, Lavon Childress, of Bryan; granddaughter Dori Peril and husband Jim, of Marble Falls; her great granddaughters Peyton and Presley.

The family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Waguespack and staff, Dr. Silva and staff, nurses and aides of Lampstand, and Hospice Brazos Valley, for their wonderful care the past eight years. Special love and thanks to Juanita and Callie.
