Benita Rodriguez Garcia

Benita Rodriguez Garcia, 60, of Bryan passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan, with a rosary recited at 6:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am at St. Teresa Catholic Church with Rev. John Boiko officiating. Burial will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.

Benita was born on March 21, 1958 to Santos & Sabina (Armendariz) Rodriguez in Mexico. She was one of 13 siblings. Benita met her future spouse, Saul Garcia, and they were married for over 30 years. To this union came 6 children: Leticia, Gerardo, Carlos, Gabriela, Saul Jr., and Adrian. She worked for over 20 years at the La Familia Restaurant in Bryan. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting, and gardening. Benita attended Saint Teresa Catholic Church and loved the Lord dearly. Her heart of gold and way of caring for those around her will be forever missed and cherished by all.

She is preceded in death by her mother Sabina; sister Julia Rodriguez; grandparents Jeronimo R. Cardenas and Castula Rodriguez Garcia; and nephew Jesus Lopez Rodriguez.

Benita is survived by her husband Saul; children Leticia Garcia, Gerardo Garcia, Carlos J. Garcia and wife Becky Jaramillo, Gabriela Garcia, Saul Garcia Jr. and wife Noemi Mosqueda, and Adrian M. Garcia; 11 grandchildren Olivia L. Castaneda, Makayla B. Garcia, Carlos Garcia Jr., Diego M. Garcia, Jaime J. Rodriguez, Helen I. Flores, Julianna A. Flores, Alannah B. Flores, Arianna B. Flores, Isis G. Garcia, and Iona G. Garcia; father Santos Rodriguez; brothers Gregorio, Feligonio, Santos, Teodoro, Jose, and Jeronimo; sisters Carmen Rodriguez, Isabel Rodriguez, Sabina Rodriguez, Maria Del Refujio Rodriguez, and Francisca Rodriguez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
