Bill W. Chronister died of a heart attack at home on November 20, 2016, surrounded by his family. Bill was born on February 15, 1923, he had a long and productive life, serving in France during World War II, followed by a degree in Geology from Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was an active exploratory geologist in Midland, Texas in the early development of the Permian Basin.

In midlife, Chronister took one of the first degrees awarded in Computer Science. He spent the majority of his remaining career with Atlantic Richfield Oil Company. In his retirement, he volunteered for schools in need of help with computer and network systems in addition to helping with many other needs of the community.

He is survived by five children, two from a previous marriage to Oveeta Chronister, and three from his second marriage to Kaye Chronister, his wife of fifty-four years.

A graveside gathering will be held on Friday, January 6, at 2:00, in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Arlington at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway.
