Billie Duncan Valicek, 83, of Bryan, passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018, in Bryan with her family at her side. A visitation will be from 11:30am until 1:30pm, Tuesday, September 25, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center, 3001 South College Ave, Bryan. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2pm, Tuesday, September 25, 2018, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 East 26th Street, Bryan. Interment will be in Smetana Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Billie Ruth was born on January 31, 1935, in Bryan, Texas to William Ethel Duncan and Iva Ruth (Hall) Duncan. She was a loving and kind mother, wife, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. At age 11, Billie started out serving Aggies in her parents’ café in Bryan in 1946 and went on to successfully managed and co-owner a variety of companies with her husband John of 48 years. Their business included their own Realty Company, gift shop, and outdoorsman shop; fudge factory, ice cream parlor and bed and breakfast. Billie was also a Real Estate Broker, Travel Agent, Stewardess, and worked at NASA in the 1960’s. Billie also worked equally as hard for her family serving as scout leader, room mom, etc. Billie’s passion above all was caring for her family. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, with all her heart. Those babies could bring a smile to her face and light up her eyes like no other. She was an active member of her church communities as a Lector, Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister; sharing her faith with all as a Catholic.

Preceding her in death are her parents William and Iva Duncan; her brothers Hollis (Noot) McLain and Gay McLain.

She is survived by her husband John E. Valicek; her daughter Cindy and husband Johnny Ray McCown; son Michal Dupuy; her grand children Bryan and wife Cassie Lane, Heather and husband Adam Vulgamott; her great-grandchildren William, Oliver, Emma, and Rylee; and other relatives.
