Carl Bruce Henry passed away at the Med. Center in College Station, Tuesday evening January 29, 2008. Services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, February 2, at A-M United Methodist Church in College Station. Interment will follow at College Station Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, February 1, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home.
Carl suffered a long illness. He was born to Walter K. Henry and Frances Shock Henry at Ladd AFB, Fairbanks, in the Territory of Alaska on April 4, 1954. Carl and his family moved to College Station in December 1957. He attended College Station Schools and graduated from High School in 1973. Carl became an Eagle Scout by age 13. He owned two duplexes that he rented, and operated a small lawn maintenance business. In spite of his physical shortcomings he managed to get along. He was a life member of the Independence Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. His hobbies were taking and printing photographs and enjoying music.
He is survived by his mother, Frances Henry of College Station; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephen and Maxine Henry of Springfield, VA., Dale and Mary Henry of Austin, TX.; nieces and nephews, Hannah and Emery Henry of Austin, Laura Henry of Dumfries, VA and Robert Henry of Marblehead, MA; and an aunt and uncle, Clarence and Mary Jane Belknap of Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
