Carl Hibbetts

Carl “Corky” Hibbetts, 72, of North Zulch, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at his residence. Memorial services are set for 5:00 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church in Bryan.

Corky was born in Woodsboro, Texas to Travis and Marie Hibbetts. In 1945, the family moved to North Zulch where he graduated high school. He received degrees from Texas A-M University in 1957, and from Southern Methodist University in 1962. Also in 1962, he married Jane, whom he had met while they both attended SMU. Corky worked for IBM from 26 years until he retired in 1993, when he and Jane moved back to the farm in North Zulch where he grew up.

Corky is survived by his wife Jane, of North Zulch; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Heather Hibbetts, of Houston, TX, Scott Hibbetts of Portland, OR; daughter, Kristen Hibbetts of Raleigh, NC; sister, Barbara Wilson, of North Zulch, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Travis and Kay Hibbetts, of North Zulch, TX; grandchildren, Andrew, Julia and Charlotte Hibbetts; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
