Cecil “Earl” McWhorter, 100, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013. The family will receive friends during visitation from 10 a.m until 11 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. immediately following the visitation, with Rev. Walter Brumley officiating. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.

Earl was born on February 25, 1912 in Madison County. He was a lifelong resident of Bryan and a member of Northview Baptist Church. Earl was beloved by his entire family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Florence.

Survivors include his daughter, Gladys Mildred Gandy, of Bryan; son, David Earl McWhorter, Sr., and wife, Kayliene, of Dickinson; sisters, Joyce Marie Menefee and husband, Henry, of Bryan, Pauline Gilhaus, of Madisonville; and five grandchildren.
