Chance Kerr Boehme

Posted By Ricky Alderete On September 24, 2017 @ 3:28 pm In Obituary | 5 Comments

Chance Kerr Boehme, age 38, was born on February 26th 1979 in Texas City, Texas to Glenda
Gail and Henry Gayle Boehme. Chance was the youngest of four children. As a child, he loved
running, track and field events and video games. He grew up in the San Leon/Dickinson area
before moving to Flatonia with his Mother in 1991. Chance graduated from Flatonia High School
in 1997. His friends probably remember him literally doing cartwheels across the field, after the
ceremony. He enjoyed the small town life and kept to himself.
Chance was a hard worker and put forth the extra effort in any job he was given. He took pride
in his work and was successful with anything he put his mind to. He worked at Utex for a
number of years in the press department and in the machine shop. He was planning on
rejoining the company in the coming months. He was living in the Hempstead/Brenham area the
last few months of his life working at Dos Brisas for his brother-in-law.
Chance loved his family, first and foremost. He kept a few close friends but tended to keep to
himself as an adult. He enjoyed listening to rock music. His favorite bands were Nirvana and
Guns and Roses. Not many people know this, but his middle name was derived from the “Kerr
canning jars”. His mother did a lot of canning during her pregnancy and really liked the name.
Chance was preceded in death by his father and by his maternal and paternal grandparents and
his uncle, Wayne McColley. He is survived by his mother, Glenda Boehme; his brother, Otis
Attaway and wife Amanda; his sisters, Tiffany King and husband Steve, and Stacy Attaway; his
nephews, Albert Adcock III and wife Karen, Kyle Adcock and Caleb Evans; his niece, Taylor
Evans, his aunts/uncles, JoAnn and Chuck Meadow, John Wayne and Linda Young and
Barbara McColley; his cousins, Joyce Maynard and husband Randy, Artie Meadows and wife
Eva, Becky Young and Marcus Young, and Farrell Young.

Glenda and Stacy I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many memories of Chance, Jimmy and Hector running in and out of my house and slamming doors as kids. I would give anything for them to have that innocence of childhood back. I will especially cherish the memory of the week I had with Chance and Jimmy on the way back from Colorado. I will carry memories of those times forever. Glenda my thoughts and prayers are with you!
