Cheryl Connell

Cheryl Delaine (Knox) Connell was born on July, 6, 1946 in Ingram, TX and left this world peacefully on January 24, 2017 in College Station, TX. Memorial Services will be held at Sunset Cemetery in Mountain Home, TX on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 2:00pm, David Billeiter presiding.

Sometimes known as “Cheery”, Aunt Chick or Gran by those who loved her, Cheryl had a fun-loving, fiery spirit and a loving heart. Cheryl was an avid reader and was never too far away from a book or her kindle reader. Throughout her life, she enjoyed reading, cooking, camping, fishing, playing dominoes & cards, bowling, and gardening. She loved music, especially classic country, loved to dance, and could follow any partner on the dance floor. Family and friends were important to her and her favorite moments were those spent with her extended family, her own family & children, her grandchildren, and her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Betty Knox, sister Miriam Thompson, brother Jim Knox and daughter Whitney Cheryl Connell. She is survived by son William C. Schmidtke & family, daughter Elizabeth M. Schmidtke, sister Earleen Simpson, brothers Douglas L. Knox & family and Deryl D. Knox & family, 5 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews & friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation to the church or charitable organization of your choice.

Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers of Bryan College Station.

The Bible calls Jehovah God “the source of life.” (Psalm 36:9; Acts 17:24, 25) The One who gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to someone who has died. He has resurrected humans in the past on earth through his son Jesus Christ and he is eager to do it again. John 11:29-44; 1 Corinthians 15:26.
