We are praying for you as you go through this time of saying your good-byes to mother, grandmother, etc.
We will remember Miss Standstedt as the woman who stood for the Harris Family and supported us in times of need. We admired the strength that she displayed where ever she was. She encouraged me (Ocie) everytime we saw each other and she helped me in difficult times.

    With love and heartfelt sympathy,

  5. We lived across the street from your Mom and Dad in College Station for numbers of years. Your Mom was a very strong woman, seeing your father through his illness and taking care of his business. She loved her home and the beautiful yard she managed. I loved to visit with Clara, she usually had something very interesting to share and had a keen sense of humor. We know God will bring comfort to you in knowing that both she and your Dad were wonderful people who loved you.

  6. Dear Carla, Sandy, Linda, Carl, – Family,

I will always hold your mom in my heart as my mom away from home….from Walton Drive it was just a bike ride away… to your home — her home, where I was always welcomed and taken care of, on Dominik Drive in College Station…and on King Arthur Circle. I will always love her as I loved your Dad. Your mother was the mother of my best friend, Carla Sandstedt-Mitchell, and especially for that, I will always love her, and for so many other reasons that are shared by so many that knew her. She was such a lady! Love and peace to all of you — may God hold you near at this time. -Jill Teer-Epstein and family

  7. Linda, Sandy, Carla, Carl:

Sorry I could not be there to say goodbye to a great lady. Clara was always a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and community member. She is a loss to the world as well as to the family of which she was so proud. And she is a cherished part of my memories of growing up.

Much love to all of you and your families,

    Julie

  8. Linda, Sandy, Carla, Carl and families,
I am so sorry for your loss. There will never be another Clara Sandstedt! I remember well how she kept me entertained with stories of Carla as a baby, when Carla and I would hang out on King Arthur. She was elegant and gracious and funny! I also fondly remember your Dad who always had a kind word. Those days in the neighborhood (I lived on Shadowwood), are forever in my heart, and your mother made them more fun, with parties and group activities galore! May you find joy in all of your memories. Our thoughts are with you.

Katy Rollins Hays and Chuck Hays

  9. Clara was a friend and mentor to my son while he was in the CORPS ,Class of 99, and she was kind and gracious
to all the CORPS members. She often
asked him to attend a political or charitable function in his uniform with her and he and other CORPS members
loved to assist her. They worked
on projects for her and she fed them well!! She was a kind and wonderful lady and will be truly missed.
My prayers are with you all.
    God bless,
    Marje

  10. Alan and I we saddened to hear about your mother’s passing – I had not had an opportunity to talk with her in the past 5 years….but will remember her fondly.
    Christie

  11. We were very saddened when we learned a few days ago of Clara’s passing. She was our first friend and neighbor when we moved to College Station long ago in 1977. Our friendship with her and John grew over the years that followed, and we will never forget all the good times we and our daughter Christie shared with the Sandstedt family. Clara was larger than life and has and will always have a very large presence in our memories. With deepest sympathies, BJ and Fred van Doorninck
