Claudia Altman

Claudia D. Altman, 65, of College Station, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017. Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan, Texas. A graveside ceremony honoring her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, at the Memorial Cemetery of College Station. Funeral services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers of Bryan College Station, Texas.

Claudia was born August 12, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Commander Claude and Martha Durden Winstead. A descendant of the Harrison family of Colonial Virginia, she was an ardent supporter of the United States Military; she was both a military spouse and mother for many years. She enjoyed serving the elderly, and in life she was extremely passionate about her faith and helping others.

Survivors include her son, Major Rob Altman II and wife Shelley; daughter, Rachael Claudia Altman Medders and husband Wes; brother, Chuck Winstead and wife Debbie; sisters, Shera Floyd and husband Bucky, and Martha Fender and husband Sherwood; grandchildren, Robert William Altman and Abigail Kaitlin Altman.
