Dallas Eugene Probst, 67, of Temple, passed away Monday July 28, 2014 at his residence. Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory in Bryan.

Dallas was born February 25, 1947 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Roy and Rosalie Probst. He was a proud veteran of the US Army. Dallas loved spending time with his grandson, Ever O’Neill, fishing and telling stories. He also enjoyed reading and going to garage sales collecting antiques.

Dallas was preceded in death by his parents, and his son-in-law, Kevin J. O’Neill.

Survivors include his daughters Andrea J. O’Neill and fiancé C.J. O’Connor of College Station, Texas and Jennifer M. Romero and her children of Hawthorne, California; brothers, Richard Probst, Buddy Probst and wife, GiGi; sisters, Elizabeth Huffman, Anetha Sample and husband Larry, all of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org or to The Salvation Army.
