Dianne Ward Patterson

June 26, 1940 – April 25, 2018

Dianne Ward Patterson, 77, of College Station passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dianne was born on June 26, 1940 in Winnie, TX to William Allen and Lavonia (Graham) Ward. She graduated from Navasota High School in 1957. She met her future husband, Gene Patterson, while still in high school in Navasota, and they were married in December 1958. They were blessed with two daughters, Lisa and Lorna. In 1982, Dianne and Gene opened a convenient store called Country Grocery in College Station and they sold it in 2000.

Dianne loved her family more than anything, but especially her granddaughter, Kaci. Like the lyrics in a Luke Bryan song, she “oughta qualify for sainthood”. She was known to be a substitute grandmother for anyone that needed one. Dianne was, and will always be, known for her giving heart and loving spirit.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Lavonia, and her husband Gene.

Dianne is survived by her two daughters Lisa Patterson of College Station and Lorna Kay of Bryan; granddaughter Kaci Kay; brother Richard Ward and wife Darlene; dearest friends Lori Cozby and Mark Puceloski; niece Stacey Golden; nephew Richard Darren Ward; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
